Our Menu of Specialised Services

1. Alloy Wheel Repair & Full Refurbishment

Perfect for wheels with cosmetic damage like kerb rash, scratches, corrosion, and fading paint.

Everyday driving inevitably takes a toll on your alloy wheels. Kerb rash from tight parking, stone chips from motorway driving, peeling lacquer, and fading finishes can significantly detract from your vehicle’s appearance and resale value. Our expert wheel repair and refurbishment service is designed to completely erase this damage and return your wheels to a condition that is often better and more durable than the original factory finish.

Cropped hands of mechanic

1. Initial Inspection & Safe Tyre Removal

We begin with a rigorous inspection to identify any hidden structural damage, such as hairline cracks or bends. The tyre is then carefully removed using a state-of-the-art touchless tyre machine, which prevents any harm to the rim edge or the sensitive tyre bead.

Advanced Technical Expertise

2. Chemical Stripping

The wheel is submerged in a specialised, heated chemical bath. This process safely and completely removes all layers of old paint, lacquer, and primers without abrading or damaging the delicate surface of the underlying alloy. This method is vastly superior to sandblasting, which can compromise the metal’s surface integrity.

Preparing the surface

3. Damage Repair & Surface Preparation

Our skilled technicians meticulously repair any cosmetic damage. Kerb rash is carefully smoothed out, and deeper gouges or missing metal fragments are repaired using high-strength aluminium TIG welding. The entire wheel is then painstakingly prepared to create the perfect microscopic profile for maximum primer adhesion.

Low angle worker spraying powder paint

4. Powder Coat Primer & Curing

A high-quality, zinc-based powder coat primer is electrostatically applied, providing a robust, corrosion-resistant base layer that seals the alloy. The wheel is then cured in an industrial oven at a precise temperature to ensure the primer is perfectly hardened and bonded to the metal.

Applying Colour Coat to Rim

5. Colour Application

Your chosen colour is expertly applied in a dust-free, climate-controlled spray booth. We can precisely colour-match the original OEM factory shade or create a completely custom colour based on your preference. We use only the highest-grade automotive paints, ensuring a rich, deep, and even finish.

Advanced Technical Expertise

6. Protective Clear Coat Application

A final, durable clear coat layer (available in matt, satin, or high-gloss) is applied over the base colour. This crucial layer protects the wheel’s finish from UV radiation, road grime, corrosive brake dust, and minor scratches, ensuring a long-lasting, easy-to-clean surface.

Advanced Technical Expertise

7. Final Curing & Rigorous Quality Control

The wheel undergoes a final curing cycle in the oven to harden the clear coat. Afterwards, a senior technician performs a detailed multi-point quality inspection under specialised lighting, checking for any surface imperfections before the wheel is approved for refitting.

Advanced Technical Expertise

8. Tyre Refitting & Precision Balancing

The tyre is professionally refitted, inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended pressure, and then precision-balanced on our advanced digital wheel balancer to guarantee a perfectly smooth, vibration-free ride.

2. Structural Repair: Straightening & Welding

The essential service for buckled, bent, or cracked wheels to restore safety and performance.

Potholes, road debris, and even minor traffic incidents can cause significant structural damage to your wheels. These issues, such as bends, buckles, or cracks, are not merely cosmetic flaws; they are serious safety hazards. They compromise the structural integrity of the wheel, leading to dangerous steering vibrations, accelerated and uneven tyre wear, and an increased risk of catastrophic failure while driving.

Wheel Straightening: Buckle & Bend Removal

Potholes, road debris, and even minor traffic incidents can cause significant structural damage to your wheels. These issues, such as bends, buckles, or cracks, are not merely cosmetic flaws; they are serious safety hazards. They compromise the structural integrity of the wheel, leading to dangerous steering vibrations, accelerated and uneven tyre wear, and an increased risk of catastrophic failure while driving.

The Process

The wheel is securely mounted on the rig, and its deviation from true is measured to within fractions of a millimetre using a dial gauge. The technician then identifies the precise points of deformation and gently applies controlled hydraulic pressure, sometimes with targeted heat application, to coax the alloy back into its original, perfectly round shape. This is a delicate and highly skilled process that requires immense experience to avoid over-correcting or stressing the metal.

Final Result

A professionally straightened wheel that runs true, completely eliminating vibrations, preventing abnormal tyre wear, and allowing for perfect wheel balancing.

Aluminium TIG Welding: Crack Repair

A cracked alloy wheel represents a critical failure point and a major safety concern. Our certified welders use advanced Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding techniques to perform permanent, high-strength repairs that restore the wheel’s integrity.

The Process

The area around the crack is meticulously cleaned and prepared. A ‘V’ groove is carefully ground along the length of the crack to ensure the weld achieves full penetration through the alloy. The technician then skilfully applies a new bead of high-quality filler rod, welding the crack from both sides of the wheel to create a new, solid bond that is as strong, or even stronger, than the parent metal. After welding, the bead is ground down and perfectly smoothed, making the repair completely invisible after the wheel is refinished.

OUR SAFETY PROMISE

We will never perform a weld on a wheel if the crack is located in a structurally critical area that would compromise its fundamental integrity (e.g., on a spoke-to-hub joint). Your safety is our non-negotiable priority, and we will provide an honest assessment if the wheel is beyond safe repair.

3. Bespoke Modifications & Customisation

Wheel Widening & Stepping: Re-lipping

Achieve the perfect “stance” and fitment for your vehicle. Our wheel widening and re-lipping services are for discerning enthusiasts looking for a more aggressive posture and the ability to fit wider, higher-performance tyres.

Widening-of-Wheels-Resized

Widening: For Steel & Alloy Wheels

We can professionally widen your single-piece wheels by precisely cutting them on a lathe and welding in a new, perfectly rolled band of high-grade metal. This is a highly specialised process that requires absolute precision to create a strong, true, and perfectly balanced wider wheel.

Re-lipping 2 to 3 Piece Wheels

Stepping / Re-lipping: For Multi-Piece Wheels

We can replace the original “lip” (the outer barrel) with a new, wider one. This not only increases the wheel’s width but can also change its offset for perfect fender fitment. We can source and install new lips in a variety of finishes, including polished aluminium, chrome, or a custom colour.

P.C.D. & Genral Engineering

Have you found the perfect set of aftermarket wheels, but they don’t have the correct bolt pattern or hub size for your car? We have the precision engineering solution.

Circle Adjustment of Rim

P.C.D. (Pitch Circle Diameter) Adjustment

Using our precision milling equipment, we can accurately re-drill the bolt pattern of a wheel to match your vehicle’s hub specifications. For more significant changes, we can fill the original holes with welded aluminium and re-drill a completely new P.C.D. pattern.

Bore Machine Cutting in the Middle

Centre Bore Machining

The centre bore of a wheel is crucial for a hub-centric, vibration-free fit. We can machine the centre bore to be larger, allowing it to fit onto a vehicle hub with a larger diameter. Conversely, if the wheel’s centre bore is too large, we can supply and fit custom-made hub-centric spigot rings to ensure a perfect, safe fit.

4. Premium Chrome, Polished Finishes & Custom Engraving

The pinnacle of luxury and personalisation in wheel aesthetics.

For the ultimate statement, MRC offers premium services that represent the highest level of wheel customisation, delivering a breathtaking look that is synonymous with luxury, class, and individuality.

Chrome Spray Applications

Chrome spray is an advanced finishing technique that delivers the appearance of traditional chrome plating without the complexity, cost, or environmental concerns of electro-chemical plating. Using specialised spray technology, we are able to achieve a highly reflective, mirror-like finish that mimics true chrome but with greater flexibility and faster turnaround.

Our Process

We start by meticulously preparing the wheel surface, ensuring it is perfectly smooth, repaired, and primed to accept the chrome spray. A multi-stage system is then applied, including a base coat, the chrome-effect layer, and a durable top clear coat that protects the finish from chips, fading, and weathering. This innovative technique enables the dazzling shine of chrome with improved adaptability to different wheel shapes and designs.

Benefits

Chrome spray delivers a brilliant, show-quality effect, is less susceptible to peeling and flaking than traditional chrome in harsh environments, and is suitable for a wide range of custom and OEM applications. It also allows for creative customisation—such as tinted or coloured chrome effects—that can be tailored to your desired style.

Polished Silver Applications: High Polishing

For those who prefer the natural, raw beauty of alloy, a high polished finish offers a shine that is nearly as bright as chrome but with the warm, rich lustre of bare metal.

Our Process

This is a highly labour-intensive process that involves no paint or plating. Our technicians use a progressively finer series of abrasives to sand and smooth the entire wheel surface, removing all microscopic imperfections.

Final result

After smoothing the wheel surface, (our technicians uses) specialised polishing compounds and high-speed buffing wheels are used to bring the aluminium alloy itself to a mirror-like shine.
